Renting a wedding tent in Graubünden from us means tent, wooden floor, tables, chairs and lighting all travel together. From Steinhausen it is about 116 kilometres to Chur and a good 200 to the Engadine. The fabric tents are sewn in Switzerland, waterproof and hold 50 to 300 guests. For cool evenings at altitude we add electric heaters. Whether it is a meadow in the Rhine valley or an alpine pasture above the village, we look at the site first.
For 50 guests our smallest tent at 6 by 10 metres is enough, from CHF 1,850. For 80 to 120 guests you take 10 by 15 metres, from CHF 2,850. Bigger weddings celebrate in the 11 by 21 metre tent for 150 to 200 guests or the 12 by 32 metre tent for up to 300. The wooden floor is CHF 12 per square metre. Electric heaters start at CHF 35.
In Davos the average lows are 6 degrees in June, 8 degrees in July and August and 4 in September. So a wedding that runs into the night gets chilly there, even in summer. We suggest putting side walls and heating into the quote straight away rather than thinking of it on the day. For the guy lines we need two metres more space all round, so 8 by 12 metres for the smallest tent. On an alpine pasture with little flat ground, that is the first thing we check.
In Graubünden a festival tent needs no building permit for up to six months a year. That does not apply in hazard zones if people stay in the tent, or if water bodies, groundwater protection zones or moorland habitats are put at risk. Then even the tent for your wedding weekend needs a building permit. If you want to marry on an alpine pasture, by a mountain lake or at the foot of a slope, look at the municipality's hazard zone and water protection maps first. Our reference in Graubünden is an anniversary, not a wedding. In 2023 our pavilions stood on the wooden deck by the lake on Lenzerheide, at around 1500 metres. We set up in the morning and the party was that evening.
