When you rent a pavilion in Zurich from us, we deliver it, put it up and collect it again after the event. There are five sizes, from 3 by 3 to 4 by 8 metres. We line several pavilions up until the whole area is covered. On tarmac and paving they stand on ballast. That works in a city courtyard just as well as in a garden on Lake Zurich.
The smallest pavilion measures 3 by 3 metres and costs CHF 200. At 4 by 4 metres it is CHF 250, at 3 by 6 metres CHF 300. If you need more cover, take 4 by 6 metres for CHF 450 or 4 by 8 metres for CHF 550. The pavilions link up to any length, for a bar, a catering area or a covered walkway. Tables and chairs come along too if you want them.
In the city our pavilions often stand on hard ground, in a courtyard or on a forecourt. There we are usually not allowed to go into the ground, so we work with ballast as the manufacturer specifies. The City of Zurich guidance sheet on temporary structures counts ballast and anchoring as part of stability, and the operator is responsible for it. In tight courtyards a pavilion is usually the better choice than a large tent. Along the lake the access roads are narrow, so we carry the material the last stretch.
If you put a pavilion on a square or a pavement, the City of Zurich requires a permit from the city police. That applies to any kind of infrastructure, so a single club stand too. The application has to be submitted complete and signed by post at least four weeks ahead. Book with us and start the application at the same time, we supply the plan with dimensions. On private ground, for short events, the practice of the municipality decides. You cannot rely on the cantonal exemption for small structures, it only covers up to 6 m², and even our smallest pavilion is 9 m².
In 2023 we equipped a corporate event for 150 people on the campus square for ETH Zurich, with tents rather than pavilions. The square was hard surfaced and anchoring was not possible. So ballast, plus lounge furniture and bar counters between the buildings.
