For Restaurant Schiff we equipped a catering event on a snow covered meadow above Zug. We carried the material 200 metres down the slope, on ice and snow. By the evening a tent with a wooden floor was standing.
Zug is small and likes to celebrate. The best spots are by the water and on the slopes towards Zugerberg, where a wooden floor is almost always part of the job.
Our fabric tents come in four sizes, from 6 by 10 metres for 50 guests to 12 by 32 metres for 300, from CHF 1,850. We put them up and take them down ourselves. On grass we anchor the tent with ground nails, on tarmac with ballast. With more than 300 people, the Zug building insurance also requires earthing for lightning protection on hard ground.
In the canton of Zug, a tent that stands for at most four months does not need a building permit. A building notice to the municipality is still intended, with a dimensioned site plan and the landowner's signature. We supply the plan with the tent and guy lines. The four months are an upper limit, with noise, light or a sensitive site the period is considerably shorter. For more than 300 people you also need the fire safety permit of the Zug building insurance, submitted four weeks before the event.
